Edukasi Kesehatan Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD) Di Rumah Sakit Sari Mutiara Lubuk Pakam

Abstract

Basic life support (BLS) is basic assistance that aims to save lives after cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest or efforts made to maintain life when the victim experiences a life-threatening condition. Efforts to help someone who is experiencing an emergency are carried out as an integrated and not fragmented system, starting from the prehospital stage, hospital stage and rehabilitation stage, so as to reduce the risk of death. The purpose of this community service is to increase knowledge about basic life support with training targets aimed at ordinary people. The problem with this activity partner is the lack of community knowledge about basic life support. The solution to overcome this problem is by conducting health education to the community with as many as 20 participants attending. The activity was carried out on June 20, 2023 with the lecture method and basic life support practices. Evaluation by giving a questionnaire during the pretest and post test. The results of this activity showed that the majority of knowledge about BLS before being given education was less than 65%. After being given education the majority of knowledge about BLS is good as much as 85%. The hospital hopes that the activities that have been carried out will be sustainable, especially education and training for the community about the importance of BLS in society so that they can maintain life when victims experience life-threatening conditions.
